What does FREE REFRESHER NAIL TRAINING involve?

Once you’ve attended any of our nail courses in a group, you’ll be welcome to come back to the same nail course as REFRESHER DAY FREE OF CHARGE for 1 year. We know that in such a busy industry it’s important to keep your skills and knowledge up to date, and because we want you to get the most out of your career it’s our pleasure to help you be the very best nail technician you can possibly be!

Is it easy to train as a nail technician?

Being a nail technician is a skilled job that takes practice and hard work, but our trainers are always on hand to ensure you’re getting the very best teaching available. We will work with you to check progress, identify areas where you may need a little more practice and give you encouraging support throughout. We also offer FREE REFRESHER TRAINING to help you keep your skills up to date.

Will I be good enough to open my own nail salon?

This really depends on a combination of things. If you have the skills required to be a nail technician, along with dedication and willingness to work hard, there’s no reason at all why you can’t have your own salon after completing your training. Our courses (link) are designed to give you the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to embark on your career, as well as the qualifications that customers and employers will want to see - so have fun and go for it!

Where can I get nail technician insurance?

We will support you with this as part of your training, and because we have a great relationship with ABT we can help you get insured quickly and easily.

BOOKINGS & REFUNDS FAQs

Can I get my deposit back if I change my mind or need to cancel?

Cancellation Policy Where Products are delivered to you immediately, you will not have the right to change your mind. In other cases, you may change your mind within fourteen (14) days of purchase, so long as materials have not been provided to you, downloaded, streamed or otherwise accessed. If you do wish to cancel, please contact us via email.

If you have problems with dates or locations and that’s the reason to cancel or refund we happy to try our best to find a nother upcoming course which suitable for you, in that case please contact us via email. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the system requirements, including compatible hardware, software, telecommunications equipment and Internet service, prior to purchasing any content. We are unable to provide refunds where your access to the Products is inhibited due to insufficient system requirements.

We may restrict your access to the Products if you breach these terms, including without limitation: a) A failure to make any payment due to us; or b) Failure to provide accurate information that is necessary for us to provide the Products to you In these circumstances, we will inform you in writing with seven (7) days’ notice that your access to the Products will be restricted.

Under this policy, the customer has the right to return goods within 14 days from the delivery date. This is called a "Cancellation Period". Please note that if more than 10% of any module(s) of the course has been completed or an exam voucher has been requested during the Cancellation Period, you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel the purchase of the course and get any refund for it.

In case you decide to cancel your purchase of a course, it can be done by contacting order@crystalnails4u.co.uk.

If you cancel the purchase of a course within 14 calendar days as mentioned above, we will refund you for all payments made as a part of your purchase within 14 calendar days from the day we accept that you are entitled to a refund.

Can I pay for my course in instalments?

Yes, we offer an instalment plan by Klarna to make your course more affordable and convenient.

NAIL COURSE FAQs

How many students are in each course and do you provide PPE?

We follow all government guidelines, so PPE including masks and gloves, as well as hand sanitiser, will all be available during your course. We also check everyone’s temperature before the class starts and anyone with COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home. There are a maximum of 10 students per class.

What should I wear for my training?

We firmly believe that people learn best when they’re relaxed and comfortable, so we recommend loose, comfortable clothing throughout your course. We will also provide you with a Crystal Nails Master Nail Academy t-shirt so you can relax and learn in style!

How should I wear my nails during training?

Because the course involves practical work and practice on other students, it’s important that you attend your training sessions with bare, natural nails.

Can I bring my own products to the nail course?

Products will be supplied by Crystal Nails and you can purchase what you need at the time of booking your course. For Health and Safety reasons we can only accept Crystal Nails products on our training courses - any other products causing allergic reactions won't be covered by our insurance company. Thank you for understanding.

Will it be easy to remove the nails I have applied during the course when I get home?

We will clearly explain the removal process during your training so you should find it easy to do this when you get home. We recommend using our professional files or acetone for easy removal - this will be explained during your session.

Will I use a drill/ e-file during the nail course?

We use manual files during the training programme, but if you want to pick up some extra knowledge and skills you can enjoy a discount on our electric files and drills.

Will the products cause any damage to the nail?

When used correctly there is no reason for any of our products used during training to damage nails. We will provide you with a comprehensive safety sheet and full training on how to keep nails protected during treatments.

Will lunch be provided?

No, so we recommend you bring a packed lunch with you.

Will I receive a certificate or diploma at the end of my training?

Yes - we’re all about rewarding you for your hard work, so you’ll receive a certificate or diploma at the end of your training, depending on the course you take.

Can I bring someone with me to take notes?

Unfortunately not as space is limited, but we will give you plenty of notes and information and ensure you have enough time to make notes of your own. If you have any additional learning needs please let us know.

Will I get homework?

Yes, homework is an important part of your study and will help you prove your knowledge in your portfolio.

I am in a wheelchair - will I still be able to attend the training?

Please let us know of any mobility issues prior to training and we will ensure our educators check the facilities and space. If you have any questions, please contact us for further information.

KITS & PRODUCTS FAQs

Will I have to bring my own kit with me?

Yes, we ask that all trainees bring their own kits, and we also have some extra products and tools available to borrow - although these will be in short supply so please do bring your own!

Can I get a trade card for nail suppliers?

Yes, all you need to do is show your certificate to the wholesaler or supplier and they will set you up with an account that allows you to buy professional goods at trade prices.

Where can I find wholesalers?

This varies on area and different locations have their own stockists, but here are a few examples:

Will I be able to buy nail kits from my Educator?

Your trainer may have some stock with them but this is not guaranteed, so please do bring your own kit.

NAIL INFO FAQs

What's the difference between Acrylic Extensions and Gel Extensions, and which is better?

Acrylic nails use a liquid and powder system , while Gel is built up and used with a lamp to cure it into place. Both systems work differently, but create similar effects. We will talk you through the pros and cons of each during your training, but both are completely safe when used properly.

Which brand of Acrylics would you recommend?

We always recommend our very own Crystal Nails acrylic powder, because it ensures strong, smooth and flexible nails every time, thanks to our innovative tri-polymer powder that’s incredibly quick and easy to apply.

What’s the difference between the Foundation Acrylic course and Progression or Conversion Acrylic course?

In the Foundation Acrylic Course we recommend that you have a prior qualification in acrylics as we focus on building your existing skills and techniques, taking them to the next level. The Foundation Acrylic course is for beginners, preferably with prior manicure experience.

What is nail sculpting?

Nail sculpting is a method of creating extra length using forms under the free edge, giving you an extension free from tips and glue.

What are nail tips?

Nail tips are plastic platforms which are attached to the natural nail to create the extra length to form an extension

Are Gel Polish and Shellac the same?

Shellac is the ‘hoover’ to the Gel polish ‘vacuum cleaner’. i.e. Gel polish is the actual product, Shellac is just one of the more popular brands!
